Pretend City Children's Museum

Pretend City Children's Museum will improve Orange County's kindergarten readiness by increasing awareness of and participation in developmental screenings for children in their first 18 months. The museum will launch a new initiative as an expansion of its Good to Go from Head to Toe program including an expansion of programming by hiring a full-time manager of community outreach; introducing and conducting developmental screenings in non-traditional environments such as libraries, group homes and shelters; providing lunch and learn programs for corporations with a young workforce to increase awareness of the importance of developmental screenings; and expanding the museum's infant program, which educates new parents about child development and the importance of early screening. The project will increase the community's understanding of and access to developmental screenings, increase the number of children screened, train staff, and build new strategic partnerships with key community service providers.
