The New Children's Museum

The New Children's Museum's will expand a community-outreach program to provide sustainable arts engagement opportunities to underserved, mostly Latino families in San Diego County. Over the course of two years, the museum will work alongside four community organizations to better connect with Latino and other underserved and diverse families. Beginning with meetings with partner organizations to develop and plan the program, the museum will offer year-round activities including hands-on art-making workshops and family activities as well as professional development training for partner staff. Free memberships will be provided for families participating in the workshops. The project is designed to deepen the families' relationships with the museum, support the mission and training needs of its partner organizations, and generate more participation in the museum from underserved audiences.
