The Wild Center
Log Number: MA-10-19-0669-19
The Wild Center will launch an initiative to engage visitors in practical, regionally-relevant climate solutions. The center will use the Project Drawdown approach, a solutions-based roadmap for addressing and reversing climate change with existing technology. A 3,000 square foot space will feature large-scale imagery, video, interactive activities, and first-person accounts from leaders in climate solutions and those most impacted by climate change, including youth and indigenous communities. To inform the exhibition design, the museum will organize three public events to test the solutions-first framing, promote community dialogue, and gather information on audience content knowledge. The project will also include a tinkering/making space for younger visitors and a new outdoor interpretation highlighting the museum's LEED Silver infrastructure. Training for interpretive staff will focus on best practices in climate change communications. An external evaluator will conduct both formative and summative evaluation.
