Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose
Log Number: MA-10-19-0264-19
San Jose children's Discovery Museum will undertake a participatory planning process. The process will inform the production of a cross-cultural traveling exhibition for children and families that addresses demographic trends and national challenges. Focusing on the Persian festival of Norooz, the exhibition will feature both Muslim and non-Muslim peoples and explore connections among the many nationalities and cultures that trace their heritage to Persian roots. The museum will work closely with community leaders, stakeholders, and advisors to ensure cultural accuracy and incorporate essential insights, resources, focus group reflections, and logistical support. An exhibit design consultant will facilitate design workshops, and develop a conceptual framework, schematic design, and fabrication plan for the exhibition. The museum will also produce a communications strategy, build script templates, and present a Norooz cultural celebration as part of the project.
