Leroy House

Purpose: Supporting Lifelong Learning The Sense of History project will support lifelong learning through the development of new permanent exhibits that will allow the historical society to share its collections and knowledge on the history of the LeRoy House and the people who lived in it. The project will enhance the period rooms with small exhibits without interrupting the historic feel of the rooms or the flow of traffic. Therefore, unobtrusive spaces and transition areas, such as closets and hallways, will be utilized for exhibit spaces. Included in the exhibits will be text, soundscapes, smells, and "please touch" components. These interactive components will be based around Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences, which stresses the different learning styles of individuals.
