The Library and Information Service Program of the Puerto Rico Department of Education will use funds to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2023-2027, which reflect the purposes and priorities of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). In Puerto Rico, specific goals address: 1) Promoting formal education and lifelong learning for the people of Puerto Rico; 2) Improving access to information through projects that impact all types of libraries in Puerto Rico; 3) Optimizing the management processes and institutional capacity of libraries in Puerto Rico; and 4) Strengthening the library workforce through professional development and continuing education activities.
