San Diego Art Institute

The Institute of Contemporary Art, San Diego, will initiate a community engagement series to promote physical, psychological, and social healing through art in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The institute will host a series of eight public engagement events that correspond to its upcoming season of exhibitions focused on personal and societal healing. Institute staff will bring together artists and cross-sector professionals in panels and symposia, offer interactive art activations and art-making activities, and enhance digital engagement through podcasts, live streams, and archived footage. The project will support staff time, program marketing, and art supplies, as well as stipends and travel for artists and speakers. The project will result in free, accessible, and inclusive opportunities that encourage community building, wellness, and healing for the residents of San Diego County.
