Victoria College (Museum of the Coastal Bend)

Victoria College's Museum of the Coastal Bend in Victoria, Texas, will provide two paid internship opportunities for students to assist in migrating catalog data to a new collections management system. Victoria College is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) with over half of its student population identifying as Latino. Building upon a previous IMLS project, this is the second phase of a stewardship initiative to digitize and catalog collections. The project will provide hands-on skills and training to students and puts the museum one step closer to providing an open database. Digitizing its collection will provide students, researchers, and the public with access to artifacts from the last 13,000 years and insight into the history of the Coastal Bend.
