College of William and Mary (James Monroe's Highland)
Log Number: IGSM-253214-OMS-23
James Monroe’s Highland will create a collections management policy and increase intellectual control over its collection of objects related to the history of President James Monroe and the enslaved people who also resided on the property. The museum will hire a collections manager to work with staff and a postdoctoral research fellow to create the new policy. The new hire will also manage the cataloguing and rehousing of the collection as well as aid in the reinterpretation of the galleries. As a result of the project, staff will produce a publicly accessible collections guide that highlights a subset of historic objects.
