Universidad Ana G. Mendez (Casa Museo Jesus T. Pinero)

The Casa Museo Jesus T. Pinero will undergo a new audience development and community outreach project to provide learning opportunities to 450 local middle and high school students. The new program will offer teacher professional development that contains a digital module created for classroom use coupled with in-person field trips to the museum. This project will support hiring a part-time project coordinator who will develop a relationship with local schools and coordinate in-person field trips, as well as four paid college interns who will be field trip tour guides. The project will result in helping students develop a sense of pride in their history and culture and inspire them to delve deeper into the history of Puerto Rico.
