San Diego Chinese Historical Museum

The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum will improve storage conditions and documentation of approximately 2,000 objects from its paper and textiles collection. The project will address a lack of climate-controlled storage space and the need for improved collections data. Museum staff will work with a paid intern to accession, document, digitize, and properly rehouse objects composed of sensitive materials in climate-controlled storage facilities. Additionally, staff will host a public program for community members to view objects in person. As a result of the project, objects will be preserved in archival conditions and easily accessible for exhibition and museum programming.
