Haitian American Museum of Chicago
Log Number: IGSM-252914-OMS-23
The Haitian American Museum of Chicago will improve the care of its collection related to the history of Haitians in the Global African Diaspora. Staff will establish a preservation plan for the museum's collection and library that includes policies, procedures, and a disaster plan. Staff will then implement the preservation plan and update the collection and library catalogs with more accurate labels, descriptions and metadata. As a result of the project, museum staff and the public will have improved accessibility to the museum’s collection and library for research and educational purposes. Intended beneficiaries of the project include Haitian and African Americans, as well as students, educators, and museum visitors.
