Chemeketa Community College District

The Chemeketa Community College will increase community internet access by loaning out Wi-Fi hotspots, especially in rural and remote areas. Chemeketa Community College Cooperative Regional Library Service will purchase hotspots that will circulate through its 18 member libraries. It will also offer remote and in-person educational opportunities and skills through workshops, facilitated by community college subject experts, to aid in pandemic recovery. This pilot program will create a content development service model that addresses immediate community needs in critical skill building and increase the chances of adults returning to school to get certifications and degrees for career advancement. This cooperative is focused on supporting rural and urban areas with pockets of high poverty, high unemployment, and low educational attainment levels.
