Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation

The Fort McDowell Tribal Library in Fountain Hills, Arizona, will strengthen its online cultural and learning platforms, which users have accessed on an unprecedented scale since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The library will publish a Yavapai dictionary in the form of a mobile application, convert Yavapai language CDs featuring Tribal elders to more versatile digital formats, and offer a Yavapai language camp for school-age students. The library also will expand its collection of e-books. Finally, the library will purchase laptops and internet hotspots for use by students and community members. These activities will help the Yavapai community recover and prioritize culture preservation after the devastating pandemic.
