Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians

The Ben Guthrie-Lac de Flambeau Public Library serves the Lac de Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and non-Natives in Northern Wisconsin. Modern library technology only recently arrived at the public library in 2018. During the COVID-19 pandemic as more daily activities were being switched to virtual events, and it soon became obvious that many needed assistance accessing and learning the new technologies and methods to receive services. Additionally, people had more time on their hands and learned new hobbies, skills, and completed home tasks. Grant money from the American Rescue Plan will enable the library to provide needed computer skills training and Zoom instruction for library patrons as well as provide a space where citizens can build community through sharing their newfound skills and hobbies.
