The Seattle Art Museum will reactivate and revitalize its in-person arts programming after more than a year of cancellations due to the pandemic. The museum will produce a series of public programs in connection with the exhibition Visions of our Blue Planet, on view in spring 2022. A community advisory committee will provide input on the exhibition’s development and public programming. The museum also will organize performances, docent tours, curator talks, and artist talks to encourage discussions around the exhibition’s themes. The museum will customize guided tours for kindergarten through 12th-grade students to support grade-specific learning objectives and develop targeted programs for families, teens, and young adults. The project responds to a pandemic recovery need around gathering and exchanging ideas in shared spaces, and it will support those hit the hardest by the pandemic, especially artists and students.
