Las Vegas-Clark County Library District

Las Vegas Clark County Library District will ensure local students have access to digital library content 24/7, through the existing platform that serves the fifth largest school district in the U.S. Following pandemic disruptions that closed libraries and schools, this project emerged as a way to provide grade-appropriate digital content to every student automatically with no library card. It represents a new partnership with the Clark County School District and is designed to reduce barriers to library materials. The challenges of getting parents to sign student library cards and check out materials have been significant, compounded by the three-shift hospitality economy. The pandemic had devastating impacts on student performance and academic achievement, but should further disruptions occur the library will be prepared to serve students where they are.
