The Arlington Public Library in Texas will expand its digital literacy offerings to serve more community members and address the widening gap in digital equity at the local level. With many still struggling to find or upskill their jobs, these library resources will be critical to post-pandemic recovery. Patrons will have access to community computer labs and laptop checkout stations. The library will provide connectivity through expanded public Wi-Fi at its seven locations, as well as at city-maintained Wi-Fi hotspots. The library will offer free digital literacy training, including multiweek, multilingual (Spanish and English) classes and one-time workshops, in addition to job training and ESL and GED classes with digital literacy components. Trained library staff will assist patrons with library computers, software, and internet-related issues.
