ArtsWestchester

ArtsWestchester, an arts center in New York state, will partner with mental health and nonprofit organizations to help individuals of all ages throughout the county make tiles that will be woven together in a mural and unveiled during a community celebration. The program aims to strengthen community engagement and collaboration to overcome the negative effects that the community has sustained over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will include 50 free participatory tile-making and painting workshops led by ArtsWestchester professional teaching artists at Westchester-based cultural venues, mental health facilities, and community sites. Partner organizations will provide an on-site therapist at each workshop to be present for impromptu discussion, provide mental health resources, and help individuals seek further assistance, as needed.
