Buncombe County Government (Buncombe County Public Libraries)

Buncombe County Public Libraries in North Carolina will work with local arts and cultural organizations and individual artists to deliver arts instruction to people of all ages. The local creative arts industry suffered as a result of the pandemic, and this project addresses that financial instability as well as social and emotional outlets for the community. Every other month, library staff and local arts organization advisors will select an artist or craftsperson from the community to set up a workspace in the community arts room at the East Asheville Public Library. The selected artists will allow individuals to enter their workspace during specified hours to observe and ask questions about their artistic process. Each artist also will provide an interactive program for the community during their residency.
