Log Number: ARPML-250771-OMLS-22
The Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle will hire the Arc of King County (the Arc), a nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to spend 5 months observing and analyzing the museum’s livestreamed workshops, in-museum workshops, and digital lesson plans. The Arc will recommend ways the museum can better engage students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who have been especially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Museum staff will attend trainings based on the results of this work and will enact the Arc’s recommendations, spending 2 months with selected partner schools to pilot the adapted program curricula. The Arc will review the pilot evaluation report so that the museum can modify and finalize the curriculum. Finally, museum education staff will conduct outreach and marketing efforts to engage classroom teachers, nonprofits, and family groups to attend the revised programs.
