The Tuskegee History Center in Alabama will produce new on- and off-site interactive programs to educate more people on the facts of the Tuskegee Syphilis Study and examine the issues of mistrust that arose from the study. The center will design programs for healthcare providers and anyone seeking a greater understanding of minority healthcare inequities. The center will launch a tour to highlight places associated with the study, including sites where men were recruited to participate. The program will generate greater awareness of the study facts and increase sensitivity about minority healthcare disparities, as well as address some of mistrust connected with the reluctance on the part of some African Americans to participate in campaigns addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
