Alexandria Museum of Art

The Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria, Louisiana, will develop a free online Educator’s Vault on the museum’s website, extending access to services initially developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. In one location, educators, parents of homeschooled children, and other appropriate parties can access art lessons and activities, an educational video series relating to the museum’s collection, interviews with artists, and prepared lesson plans with educational, historical, and practical information about featured works of art, helping teachers re-engage with students returning to in-person learning. The museum also will facilitate focus groups with local educators to better understand the area’s specific needs, which are likely to have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic’s interruption of in-person instruction. The museum also will allow Educator’s Vault users to continually give feedback on the work being created.
