City of Hialeah (City of Hialeah Public Library)

Hialeah Public Library in Florida will counteract the pandemic’s effects on its community by offering laptop and hotspot lending along with digital literacy programs. The city of Hialeah was disproportionately affected by COVID-19 in its number of Coronavirus cases and unemployment rate, which have increased the need for essential library services and resources. Through this program, the library will offer weekly public workshops at five library branches that serve high density, low income neighborhoods. The trainings and loaned materials will help residents of all ages and backgrounds study and work from home, gain new skills to reenter the workforce, find jobs, grow their businesses, and contribute to Hialeah’s economic recovery.
