Dayton Metro Library

The Dayton Metro Library in Ohio will support local job seekers though educational programming, resources, and community-focused partnerships, as they face unemployment rates that are 50% higher than the statewide rate and still struggle in the wake of the pandemic. The library will hire a workforce development librarian to assist community members whose employment and livelihoods were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in finding fulfilling careers. The librarian also will support ongoing training of other staff to ensure patrons receive consistent support in their job searches. In addition, the library will purchase databases that educate and assist job seekers. The library will promote these new services through print and electronic marketing materials.
