Each year, select museums and libraries with outstanding records of community service receive the Institute of Museum and Library Services’s National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor for museums and libraries. Beginning with the 2009 awardees, personal stories demonstrating the ongoing impact of these award-winning institutions are being documented through a cooperative agreement between IMLS and StoryCorps, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to recording, preserving, and sharing the stories of Americans from all backgrounds and beliefs. 2014 National Medal Winner Yiddish Book Center "Somehow the space of this building allowed that, you know, for him to feel at home." Amy S. Klein's  father, Arthur S. Klein, recently passed away. Amy (R) talks to Christa Whitney (L)  about her father's personal connection to the Yiddish Book Center, where Christa works and where Arthur started volunteering as a docent at age 82.  Christa also interviewed Arthur as part of the Center's Wexler Oral History Project.
