On Wednesday, I joined Education Secretary Arne Duncan; White House chef Sam Kass; the first family’s personal trainer, Cornell McClellan; and over 130 students from DC-area schools, camps, and youth programs at the first event of the Department of Education’s four-part Let’s Read! Let’s Move! series.
I met some great kids who are excited about keeping their brains and bodies growing healthy and strong all summer long. Hands shot up in the air when we asked the kids about visiting libraries and museums. It was a great opportunity to see the how libraries, museums, and schools can surround kids with opportunities to discover and feed their passions.
